Is there any difference between a 268 crank and a 981 as far as putting it in a 2.8 to make a 3.1?

I don't know what a 268 crank is, and the 981 is the FWD DIS 3.1 stroke.Ben

I used a 981 in the last 2.8 to 3.1 I built and I found a 268 casting pretty cheap, so I wondered what the difference was.
