LOL nice scale! Can you drop that off at my house? Since it looks like I won't be getting headers after all I need something else to give me more power...

I spy a Roush plate on there... Still don't know why they put them on there.

Are you lifting the engine with an old seat belt? Nice!

I used some old mule tape from work. That's tough stuff.

I still don't understand why you can't have headers. If you are patient, they are comming to the store soon enough

Yes, this is the first one I've gotten with the roush plate, lol. Looks like one out of 5 or 6.

Every time I buy an engine, i get a nice strap, but this is the first seatbelt haha. I have an "in" with a local wrecker and get these engines with less than 60k miles. If I only left them together, they would have a waranty

Headers that fit a 4T60-E L body perfectly? Or generic ones that you finish the cross over/downpipe yourself? How long of a wait? :P

I'm working on getting yours . Just got little screwed with my manual trans mount .

What's the difference from the EGR tube on the 3500 and the 3100? Guessing there is no possible way to just wire in a 3500 EGR to a 3100 without doing the adapter... Sorry, first thing I saw when looking at picture was the EGR... Have EGR on the mind .

Nope, since the 94/95 is OBD1".5" it uses a different kind of EGR. So you gotta use the old style and old style tube. Now if it was a 96 OBDII-99 you can swap to the 2000+ with a new tube and new style EGR as its the same tech just different attachment. BTW did you see Barry's thread on manual transmissions on bstuff? That might help you! You could also do burns $5 egr adapter or daves 3800 style one but that requires welding up the tubes, and those are super thin metal.. I used an adapter so I just could bolt it on and go, but it does take time to make.

2nd picture, the grey plate that is bolted to the timing cover, has Roush printed on it. You can't really see it in these pics, but I have seen the plate before.

To all in the future, consider using the most common description terms, I had a hard time finding this thread to post this info because someone decided to use LX9 instead of 3500, I owned two and still have to check to confirm what's refered to when I see LX9, okay thank you.

GM posted the 3.6L engine weight on the spec sheet of the 3.6L in Kg and lbs although I can't make out why the transmission combo makes such a big difference unless the manual engine is shipped with the complete flywheel assembly which I do believe is dual mass since the one I drove had the same oscillating like noise my 6 spd flywheel has. On the same note I believe the Saab 6 spd flywheel will bolt directly to the 3.6L from a pic I saw of the Saab flywheel and the GM affiliation across the F40 and F35 tranny shared across 3 GM cars.

Not very impressive compared to the 3500 until you appreciate the 304/272 power of the DI engine. That's 104 more hp than the 3500 for a small increase in weight.

Engine Mass (kg/lbs) engine plant as shipped weight 172 / 380 (estimate) automatic CTS and STS
194 / 428 (estimate) manual CTS and STS
164 / 361 (estimate) Outlook, Acadia, Enclave, Traverse

Joseph, yes the 3.6 engine is quite a defeat in the race against efficiency, but isn't i always you who talks about the economics of various swaps? Until the price comes down on the 3.6, I'm doubting that there will be many swaps.

I would be interested in dissasembling a DI engine and see if there's any way we can use that technology on a readily available engine. 3500 DI sound fun.

Not understanding what you're saying. It's impressive, just on first glance the weight isn't all that impressive until you do a power to weight ratio average.

                          3.6L Expensive?

                          I paid that for my 07 3900.

How about one closer to you:

                          2006 23K, $576 LKQ - Crystal River USA-FL(Crystal-River) 1-800-541-3011

You don't need the hassle of DI to get 300hp out of the 3.6L, the 06 posted from the Rendezvous has a 6700 rpm fuel cutoff if you like to spin things. Clean up the heads, make headers and if you want, send the cams to Delta, two or all four for a regrind and you're set.

The OE PCM can be sent off to have most if not all of the trouble spots tuned out unless you want to spend $700 for the equipment to do it yourself. Then there's my way of going fast, fast with a VVT motor, lock the cams and 730 it, better yet the 3.4 DOHC ECM.
