  • Valve adjusting question.

I have a 3.1L RWD in an Isuzu pickup. The Isuzu factory manual says to add 1 1/2 turns to the rocker nut after taking up the slack...basically 1 1/2 preload.

I've added an aftermarket cam with: Intake.420 - Exhaust.443. My question is: Should my preload be only 1 turn instead due to the larger lift?

One of the reasons I'm asking is I see many posts and replies stating 3/4 or 1 full turns for valve adjusting.

Thanks. Just wanted to verify. The service book says, "1 1/2 turns in order to center the plunger."
