Mine dropped in with no issues at all.... I had everything I needed and got it done in one day. As you can see I'm using the stock rear valve cover breather tube and all.

Hell I had more trouble with the LIM. (grinding to clear the rockers more, and swapping fuel injector o-rings).

Your TB adapter defiantly has issues. Does it look the same as the picture in the store? Or is it shorter on the top?

Here is pics of the original 60*store adapter:

Shorter than the pic in the store? So you got a bunk unit? Or is it the same as the pic in the store, but shorter obviously than mine? Either way WOT needs some revising on that part!!!

Don't freak out so fast.. Get some longer bolts and some spacers/sleeves and raise the bracket up to where it should be until WOT can get you a proper length adapter.

Lol, you can rebuild a tranny but get this frustrated over a simple UIM swap. You're having a few issues with a couple parts, you'll figure it out. Relax, take a deep breath.

The problem is not with WOT-TECH... it is my fault. When adding the nitrous port, I decided to redesign the adapter to reduce weight and give it a cleaner, less boxy look. During this process I saw that the stock bracket would not fit the taller adapter without bending the legs and reduced the height to match the bracket. I had forgotten about the LX9s PCV tube sitting higher than the 3400s. With no LX9 UIM here, we checked the adapters on a LZ4 (3500 VVT) but it doesn't have the same PCV tube location.

The bracket has to be bent either way but does look better when the legs are bent since the PCV tab is most visible.

This week, I will make some spacer/bolts kits and send them to Ben to forward as needed.

I apologize for any problems this has created.

Mine had MINOR bending with the old style. I mean I could of used one finger to push the bottom of the cable bracket down to bolt up, but I took it to the vise and tweaked it so it slid on perfect.

The new style looks like MAJOR bending.... The PCV is no where near good and the lower even has to be bent up a lot!

                  Gotta love 'em..

and yes, i know the plenum needs to be re-painted. Maybe i'll get it powdercoated or something.. lol

as for that bracket.. just cut the tab off, you don't need it. the PCV line will stay in there just fine without it (unless you are boosted).

Well I appreciate the nitrous port... I will be using that with my install...

Can you have some spacers and bolts sent my way directly? Save on shipping for Ben?

The other issue I had was when I put on the intake spacers, I tightened them down and the o-rings obviously compressed and broke the inner ring of the grove for the o-ring, so now there is no longer a groove and I had the possibility of sucking in phenolic material in my intake OR a o-ring.... Granted these spacers were too thick for my application to begin with so I will be having them surfaced to remove the height I need off, and also remove the groves for the o-rings and I'll just go back to gaskets...

I'm not sure if this is a result of the o-ring groove being too close to the port since its ported for a 3500 gasket or what, but the material there was not strong enough to support the expansion of the o-ring. This was done hand tight with a allan wrench...

And Dave my bolts are prettier....

I will say this intake did help on the top end, I noticed when I went back to the 3100 plenum. I need to clean it up again and also respray it since the hood clearance issue rubbed off some paint.

Here is what happened with my TCE spacers... the groves are too close tothe port so when the o-ring expanded in the groove it broke the spacer.

You can see cracks where it was about to break.

This isnt so much of an issue for me since I'll be surfacing both sides to make them flat and i'll be going back to gaskets on both sides.

If you do cut the PCV hold down off the bracket, you can use the metal hold down for the PCV tube that the 3500 plenum comes with (unless you no longer have that). When I put on the LX_ throttle body to my plenum I will use that, since the cable bracket won't hold down the PCV on the LX_ throttle body. Yes I edited out the _ as that's a secret for now until I verify it works... You can guess if you wish. :P

Are you going to try to paint it gray with black lines?? Try it, it might look cool.

I have no clue where that hold down ended up... I'll look aroud but i may just grab some aluminum rod with a 6mm clearance hole in it and just space it up.

I should be all set I have a full machine shop at my disposal... they are currently taking off the broken parts on the phenolic spacers and I'll go back to using gaskets.

I think I can find some sort of spacer so I dont need to hack the cable bracket.

Hell... I don't know what happened to my post yesterday but it was along the lines of this. I had suggested to Ben to send the spacers directly to you to speed things up. If you send your address to me at tce@woh.rr.com, I will get the spacers and bolts out to you tomorrow.

I also asked what color o-rings that you have with the spacers. It appears that they are the black ones. The spacers were designed and machined for the 3400s. We they were altered for the 3500 the walls got thin as you can see. I compressed a couple of the spacers between some steel plates and didn't have a problem but I was using red silicone o-rings. Perhaps that is where the problem is since the Buna-N o-rings are not as flexible as the silicone. We have been switching to silicone o-rings for most of our non-gas parts now because of their higher temperature rating and flexibility.
