the gears on the inside are plastic unless my eyes decieve me, and the TB doesnt get nearly as hot as the exhaust and the heads do, it is cooled due to the rushing air, the low pressure inside the manifold and air rushing past it,

LOL... wow... Well if it works, why not? . The metal caps might be a little hot to take off by hand if you drove the car there

I've seen ones that used 3 wing nuts to hold a cap on them before.

Your eyes deceive you, the only non metal part is the black cover and part of the return spring mechanism on the shaft. The gears are all metal.

I was toying with the idea again a little bit today.

Low and behold I held my 3" 2 bolt exhaust flange up to the throttle body and it bolts right up. Now it's even MORE tempting. I think Im going to do it. Just gotta find a place with enough clearance to mount it properly.

If it doesnt last, Im out a whopping $0. If it does, it cost me nothing Honestly I think it will be just fine.

Too bad I have to wait for my custom mounts to be done before I can route the exhaust It might be a while.

It would be interesting to see what the Aston Martin's and Corvette Z06's use for their cutouts (I know...good luck finding one in a junkyard). I think the Z06's were vacuum actuated like the bypass valve on Eaton SC's. Maybe they're not, but it's another idea to think about.

meh, exhaust cools off pretty quick.
