will it work? i know theres a slight difference in ports but if i were to get the 2000+ gaskets and gasket match the ports would it be fine? also the 95 is stamped steel rockers and the 2000+ heads were roller can i use my studs/girdles/pushrods/rockers on them? just trying to get the car running again....more familiar with the 90* engines gm has the is the first one of these ive dealt with. thanks guys.

physically, it will bolt right up. I don't think you can use your older rocker setup, but the roller ones will be fine to use. In fact, that is one of the most common updates that are done.
Using the newer heads, you might want to consider getting the upper and lower intake to go with it. The larger ports flow better, and give a nice boost in power. Most people like to do that swap anyways.
The newer lower intake gaskets will have the pushrod guides built in. Just use the roller rockers and you should not need to modify anything else.
I think that the older stamped steel rockers not bolting up is a PHYSICAL DIFFERENCE between the heads.Taylor

Older pushrods are hardened and new ones aren't because they didn't use guides, but that won't matter for your application. Use the newer LIM (preferably the metal felpro) and the roller rockers and everything will be ok. The ports won't align 100% but close enough.sigpic New 2010 project (click image)

alright i got all the right parts and i just lapped the valves and put new seals in the new heads. but i noticed the new ones dont have the tap for the sensor in the back head like my old ones did. i think its the temp sensor. by anychance is there another one on the motor where this one isnt needed? or do i need to relocate this somehow? thanks...1995 dime- shaved, slammed, v8.

The newer engines use a 3 wire temp sensor instead of 2 different sensors.
Just go to a parts store, and get a COOLANT TEMP SENSOR for a 1996 Pontiac Grand Prix SE with a 3100 SFI. For the connector, just get a TPS (throttle position sensor) connector.
The 1 wire from the back will need to be ran to the front sensor (which is located behind the thermostat in the lower intake manifold.
The 3 wire sensor is a direct replacement for the 2 wire one.Taylor

www.3400swap.com guide talks of this 3 wire and how to wire it up. Also there are other plugs other than the TPS at a junkyard you can snag to work. I think A/C pressure switch is one, and a few others. If you need one send me a PM I have a few.sigpic New 2010 project (click image)

CERTAIN AC pressure switches. The older ones have a plug that looks more like the MAP SENSOR connector. I think the 1993 cars have the TPS style connector.
so far, the only things I can think of with the TPS connector setup is the TPS, the 1993+ AC pressure sensor, and the 1996 coolant temp sensor.Taylor
