  • part number fro 3500 intake valley gasket?

does anyone have the part number for the gasket that goes on the block in the spot where you typically put RTV.

Let us know what you find.

The last time I did a 3400 LIM job, I bought a piece of orange silicone rubber and made my own gaskets like GM uses on the 3500. I coated them in a thin coat of RTV before the install and no leaks after 20K miles....sure beats using all that RTV.

thats what im trying to avoid. the rtv isnt bad but now theres a way around using a shit ton of it.

i really cant justify spending 120 some odd dollars to get the two gaskets which prob cost like 10 bucks.

i was also trying to buy just the metal plenum gaskets but no dice on that one either.

onefastv6 where did you buuy the silicone rubber from

Bah just use RTV. If you are good it will look clean and never leak. I use black RTV looks fine.

For metal plenum gaskets, if you just want to port out to the larger size cut the felpro gaskets to the center silicone line it should be pretty large or even cut off the slicone line. That's pretty large lol! paper will still seal fine like the older ones..

yeah ive been toying around with cutting it to the orange line on the paper gaskets. shaky hands own me.

the lower intake gaskets i bought today came with a small tube of RTV, might pick up another tube to have. i still got the rc car i use it on so it wont go to waste.

cutting it to the orange line is prob the same size as the 3500 gaskets.

The center of that line is the same size as the metal plenum gaskets. I have pics of it floating around if so desired.

If I remember I can take a pic of just the gaskets on top of eachother tomorrow at the shop, but here's one of the paper gasket stuck to the manifold and a rubber gasket on top...

I think you may get a little more area if you cut on the red line of the paper gaskets.
