  • head ???

Wahoo I fingered out how to make a thread yeass … ok well my question is a bit odd so I ask will 3.1 aluminum “VIN T” heads fit on my 84 2.8 “VIN B” replacing cast iron 2.8 heads From what I’V looked up head gaskets the part number is the same the thing some of you will think I’m crazy for I’m wanting to stick wit the 2bbl I’m going to try a 32/36 Weber while the
    2se
is ripped apart and I smash it wit a hammer
    >>>bad experience <<<
the main point will the 2se intake line up not too worried about EGR but water jackets and intake runners ECT when I win the lotto I might get a EFI kit but auto wrecking yard here I come

all input welcome no name calling though

There are no carb intakes for aluminum heads unless it was a prototype or custom made. 84 block has the weak crank as well so I wouldn't even mess with that engine at all.

From what I have seen, if you use the GEN 2 heads (the 2.8 MPFI, or 3.1 MPFI) then you will have to use the lower intake as well (and the upper that goes with it). I think that the intake ports are completly different.

This is the GEN 1 head. you can BARELY see the intake ports on the bottom.

In that head, you can see that the intake ports are big rectangle ones.

This is the GEN 2 head (intake side).

As you can see, the intake ports are trapezoid shape.

If you want to use the GEN 2 heads, then you will need the GEN 2 intake. Same goes for the GEN 3 heads with GEN 3 intake.

86-95 RWD engines are iron head gen 1 and have the larger mains.
