  • our manifold on your 3100 V6

    is leaking do they have to take the engine out to fix it ?

    will it have more power when its done ?

    not quiet sure which manifold you are talking about.

    I take it you are referring to the LOWER INTAKE MANIFOLD on a 3100, but knowing the year, make, and model of the car would help too.

    If that is the manifold you are referring too, then NO, you do NOT need to pull the engine out to fix it. You can do it on the car.

    As to the ammount of power loss a leaking manifold can have, you will not know if you are losing power at all. Is it an OIL LEAK, COOLANT LEAK, VACUUM LEAK?

    If it is an OLDER 3100, then you can do an intake manifold swap to get more power out of it. You can replace the small port 3100 intake with the large port 3100/3400 intake and get more power. You can also put a larger throttle body on it. An OLDER 3100 will only have a 52 mm throttle body. You can get a stock 56 mm throttle body from a newer car, or a minivan, and just swap out the linkage for more power.

    Kinda need to know as much information as you can give us.

      its a 97 pontiac grand am se with the 3100 SFI V6

        ya that responce still doesent tell which manifold u are refering to and what its causing to leak!
