  • 2000+ 3100 engine block comparison.

    Hello,

I know someone here mentioned that the Post-2000 3100 engine swap to a pre-2000 3100 engine car was the same procedure as the 3400 swap (if you wanted to use the newer intake, etc).

I was wondering if the post-2000 3100 block and heads were identical to the pre-2000 engines?

In other words, if I found a 2000+ model engine, could I take all the old stuff (lower intake, etc) off my older (97) model engine and bolt it directly onto the newer block and heads? Would the older intake gasket work on the newer heads? Thanks.

Sorry for the post, I'll just read over the 3400 swap guide and figure it out.

Blocks are the same. I think the heads will accept the small port lower. It won't be a perfect port match but they will work.
