Personally, for the lower intake gaskets, I would only use FelPro. I've looked at several different brands, and these are the only metal/rubber LIM gaskets that I've seen. Several other brands have "improved" LIM gaskets, but they're still plastic.
Most have stayed with the original-style plastic gaskets with silicon sealing beads, and added some metal inserts to prevent excess gasket crush. GM has done much the same thing with their new & improved gaskets, but they've also changed the sealing bead material. I'm sure that these are all significant improvements over the original setup... but I prefer to get away from the plastic gaskets entirely.

Yeah all plastic ones eventually leak.
The full engine kit with headgaskets and all from felpro comes with plastic gaskets. The MS98003T and MS98004T are just intake and valve cover/etc gaskets. but they are metal!sigpic New 2010 project (click image)

One is for small port, one is for large port.
IIRC the 4 is small, 3 is large port.
You use whatever your heads are. I used the small port kit and then got a large port upper gasket.sigpic New 2010 project (click image)

i got a head set (felpro) and its not the new style metal/rubber LIM gasket... it has the plastic one...
I have the new style gasket on my engine now that i just rebuilt but the pushrods bent not within 10 mins of it running.. now can i reuse that LIM gasket?? It was barely used.. But another thing is it might not be reusable since it was crushed?? what do you think...
By the way I am ovehauling a 96 3100.. New rings, heads rebuilt, and all new gaskets.. Also everything is getting dressed up by getting paint..Robert
