  • big block V6

i found this page about a 60 dergee V6 in gmc trucks from the 60's and i was wondering if they shared anything with the 660 of now in days ?

it would be cool to take this block that is 300-475 C.I and put all the newer stuff on them now that would make power

No, they don't. There is at least 1 thread on this (prob same site) from a couple years back. Might be more discussion there...

those GMC v6's are about as big as my big block chevy. they sound MEAN in stock trim and the hot rodded ones don't sound 6 bangers at all. every now and then one pops up at a street rod show, I see flat head fords with Ardun OHV heads way more than the GMC v6

They made a V12 version. Jay Leno has one in a fire truck.

                I owned a 1965 GMC Custom that had the 305 V6

I had a 1965 GMC Custom with the 305 V6 that my dad gave me when I was 16.

The heads were shaped like a 409

That old engine could drink the gas,but you couldn't bog it down.
It ended up blowing a head gasket and I replaced it with a 350 because its pretty much impossible to find parts for it.

When pulled from the truck and sat beside a 454 it was the same size.

Anyway's the 305 V6 were used mostly in saw mills and in trash trucks in the 60's that pretty much tells you how torque of an engine it was .
