  • Carburated 3.4L

    I'm building a 3.4L to go in a 1971 MGB-GT

Here are the parts I'm thinking would make a good combination any help and input would be welcome. I have not purchased any thing yet so if you have some for sale let me know.

    RWD Short Block
    Edelbroch intake
    Holley 390cfm carb
    222/226@0.50 .464lift custom Comp Cam
    Speed Pro Flat Tops
    T5 Transmission

My question is what heads and what kind of power should I expect? the car is 2400lbs. and has a 3.90 rear.

    Thnks in advance,

Do you already have the 3.4? If not, a 3500 is a much better choice even if you have to learn how to tune/install the ECM.

The 3.4 is 160bhp (might see 200 with lots of work), the 3500 is over 200bhp out of the box and can see closer to 300 with mods.

Either way, please post pics of progress

        3.4 vs. 3500

Hey thanks for the input ForceFed what mods are needed or does the 3500 have the same motor mount dimensions. Nice bird by the way I got a 71 455HO I've always had a soft spot for PMD.
