3400/3500 compatability

wondering on the interchange between a 3400 and a 3500, mostly bottom end parts, whats the difference in crank, rod size, i know the 3500 are better, pistons, bore, etc. is there some place that has this already compared? my plan is to get a low mile 3400 and leave the bottom end stock and bolt on my 3500 top end and turbo, but i thought if the crank or rods, etc were better then id swap them out.
