well i got mine about a year about, i ended up pulling the tranny a few weeks after i got it in. it had some minor hot spots on it so i ended up gettin it milled down a little bit to clean it up. i ran it for a few months then my tranny went out on me so i had to do it again... well guess what, it had hot spots again AND the teeth were loose (3pc flywheel). so i was wondering if i would run into problems if i bought a new contact disk for it (or whatever its called) since i had it milled, im kinda worried about the contact disk sticking out farther than the flywheel and have the clutch disk rub on it (im guessing it would be fine)

but i plan on just selling it on ebay cuzz of all the problems ive been told about with aluminum flywheels, and the problems ive had. i just dont wanna mess with it but i thought if it was fixed it might go for a bit more.

what do u guys think its worth?

did you have the actual aluminum surface machined along with the carbon insert?

yeah, the whole thing. i wasnt really thinking about it when i had it done. i figued i would just replace the insert later when i had time

how much was skimmed off in total? the insert needs to be roughly the same thickness as the flywheel. thinning down the flywheel too much could really hurt the strength, i wouldnt use it anymore

im not sure how much was skimmed off, they didnt tell me... but it was just to clean it up so i dont think it was that much at all, and the flywheel still has all the angled edges and none of the srews are popping out past the flywheel. it measures ~ 15.35mm thick

i think your best bet right now is to call tech at fidanza. ask them the minimum thickness allowed and if machining the whole unit is wrong or not. to me, id think its scrap but i could be wrong

do you have a dial indicator ?? i can tell you what the measurements are of the flywheel, i've got one sitting here on my bench with a new friction plate in it. tomorrow if you like.
              got zap-straps?

you have to angle the calipers so you dont interfere with the measurement (on the ring gear )

i got .601" on the outside of the aluminum measuring about .250" from the inside edge of the ring gear and varying of 0 to .002" height between the friction plate and the height of the aluminum. pretty much they are flush.

also between the friction plate and the screw head i get about .020"

anything else just ask i got it sitting here..
