Nope. If you use a UDP, you taking that risk on your own. They are not responsible for any damage that might happen to your engine.

FFP, MRZ, ASP, are all not responsible for this.

They are going to tell you to screw off if you blame them for your engine failure. Either buy it or dont, and its going to be at your own risk. Unless you are willing to spend thousands of dollars to take them to court, over an engine you could replace for a fraction of that. You dont drive a race car, its going to be fine. There are plenty of people with the UDP who have had no problems, including myself.

              OMFG!!!!

I went 62k on a 3400 with a UDP installed from day one, and it was head gaskets that caused the motor to be removed... Plus I built the hybrid.

This debate isn't new news so I dont know why everyone freaks out and is all like... MAN that left a bad taste in my mouth when I found out. I knew of this debate from day one and I wasnt worried about it.

Heh, I have a bad voltage drop cause my battery is about dead. When cranking it drops to 8volts then the car will sometimes want to stall out cause the DIS has such low voltage, so I have to tap the gas to get it revving up the alternator and then the voltage flies up to 14v Yeah I need to replace it, it just hasn't let me down yet forcing me to lol

That can be fixed by a diode or putting a slightly smaller pulley on the alternator... remember your water pump and PS pump will still be slightly underdriven... so your not totally removing the purpose of the pulley.

I know I could get a pulley, but Im gonna put the harmonic balancer on the 3400, then i can run an upgraded Alt, to help with my stereo.

you mean damper, right? theres no reason to externally balance these engines....

yeah if your alt is stock... an upgraded or high-output one has a SMALLER pulley than stock and would therefore kill your charging... and I NEED an upgraded alt cause the stocker isnt cutting it anymore.

harmonic balancers come stock on these engines from the factory and thats whats going back on it. I was NOT impressed by the UDP at all. and it wasnt worth the $120 I paid for it either IMO
