Welcome to 60*v6! The motor will last as long as you take care of it. It's not uncommon to see a 200k mile+ 60*.

You can rebuild for short money, if your crank is good. Rod bearings are $15/set, and mains are $35 IIRC for Sealed Power (stock replacement stuff). Haven't priced rings, oil pump, block gaskets yet.

Mines going strong and I work the hell out of it. I used to have a 2.8L which was pulled just after 100,000KMS and it was in mint condition. I sold it for $500 for the short block only. My 3.4L was a used motor but still has the original pistons with a fresh set of bearings and rings and it has 100,000KMS on it herself after the rebuild. It already had 130,000KMS on it when I bought it.

my old 2.8l was all original, 400 000 km on it when i pulled it out. it was pretty gummed up to, previous owner didnt take care of it. it still ran decent, but it had about 15 degrees of slop in the timing chain (the first 660 vvt motor!). im sure cleaning it up and throwing another timing chain on it and it would have gone easy another couple hundred km.
