Jon, been following your build,,, looks great!!! Maybe when I get my Z34 back together I can give it some love and get it lookin' good!!!

What I was really wonderin' is if you happened to be hanging around Thompson last Thurs night (when John Blewett died)???
Sounds like a REAL mess!! It sounded like a GREAT race untill that happened... My buddy was there and told me about it the next day when we went to Lime Rock for the Bucsh Race.... The last time he went to Thompson Tommy Baldwin Sr was killed right in front of where they were sitting... Maybe he should be barred from NASCAR events!!!
Haven't been to Waterford or Thompson myself, although that could change as it's not too far away, Waterford is only about 1/2 hour away, Thompson is much further, probably an hour or more... Live in East Haddam.... Also a friend of mine is Crew Cief for Eric Burgoise, also of East Haddam. Not too sure if he's still racing, I'd imagine he is as he does pretty good...
Only met Eric a few times but, Tim (crew chief) and I go back close to 40 years, tho I haven't seen him for awhile....
Perhaps I'll run into you in the future.. When I get my car going maybe we can get together, you live about 1/2-3/4 of an hour away..... I go to Norwich for parts and you can't be too much further...

Car was t-boned by the other car in the pic after the 36 lost control and hit our RR and sent us into the back stretch wall... The frame and cage was destroyed... we had to buy a WHOLE new car for the following week... Talk about a lot of work... got everything swapped over to it and finished 4th last week.

Yes Thompson is far away, I'm about 45 min from there since I'm in Windham now... I used to live in Ledyard with Larry and thats where his car is so thats a long haul for him.

But yeah we should meet up some day.

Yeah, after I posted I looked at the Barnett site and read about your wreck, even downloaded vidzzzzz... That sucks!! I'm GLAD that Larry didn't decide to hang it up. I'd hate to see a sucessful racer give up a career because of something like that.
14.8 sounds pretty respectable (kinda out of touch on the 1/4 mile tho),,, bad weather and your first time out... Haven't been to a dragstrip since they closed the one in East Haddam, CT Dragway... It does still exist and it is still car related. Consumers Union owns it and does all their auto testing there. http://tinyurl.com/29wptd State police also use it for training. When they used to run Funny Cars I could hear them and the PA system from my house!! At least it isn't condos!!
Friday me and my friend are heading to Lime Rock Park for the Classic Races!! I LOVE that place!! One of my favorite places!!
Maybe my buddy Dick Gilmartin http://tinyurl.com/yrv9td will run his car. It's a Richard Childress built 87 Monte Carlo that was one of Dale Srs road course cars. Dick is about 75 years young and says he's selling it. He wants $130,000 for it. I don't believe it!! He loves that car!! Maybe we'll get a treat and see Paul Newman one more time, at 83 he still kicks ASS at LRP!! They also say he can act!!
Oh well, now I ramble.. Sorry.. Just wanted to say I'm glad Larry is still a contender!!!
