(out of a camaro) is that condicered to be a 3400 or a 3.4? what gen is that concidered? wiki says its a gen3 but yet it seems to be a 1st gen (sharing same cast heads and all as an 86 2. just a little confused...

im thinking i should treat the engine as a gen1 being as related it is to the older 2.8's, cuz im pretty sure the newer manifolds and such wont fit this, or am i wrong? maybe its just lack of sleep and i should think about this 2night lol

im building the engine while its in my camaro, then im going to "move" it to my fiero when my fiance gets her new car. so the things i do will need to kinda work in both cars, i dont wana have to change TOO much when i do the swap

It's a genI and refered to as a "3.4". #400 is indeed genII, but was only available in FWD.

All logitudily mounted 660s were genI.

Almost like a Gen1.5, used Gen2 ignition and displacement and Gen1 heads, so really a Gen1.75?

Anyways, the family tree denotes a Gen2 to be the first aluminum heads, generally speaking.

Are you going to keep the 3.4 intake and ing. ?
It's a lot easier swap if you use the Fiero top end parts on the motor. (as you proabably know.)
I have a 3.4 in my fiero. Love it...

yea, im def gona swapout the top-end, it would be a royal pita to have the intake on the passanger side

The upper plenum can be rotated 180* if I'm not mistaken. This is how to put FWD intakes on a RWD car anyways.

If I'm remembering right, the lower manifold and all is rotated 180*.
