  • Walbro pump install, A few Q's

Ok, I just got my walbro pump today, it’s a 255 high pressure pump, now my question is I'm installing this in a 91 Corsica tank, with a 91 pickup, On the pickup there is a "pulsator" according to the Walbro instructions, now this says to reinstall the pump with the pulsator, but when doing this it almost seems that the pump is a little short. The feed tail on the pump is slightly shorter than on the old original one, so what I did was put the pulsator on, fully against the pump as it says to do, put the pump in place and then to prevent the pulsator from moving up on the pickup line I just put a hose clamp above it. It feels like there is enough engagement of the pickup line to prevent any leaks, but I was just wondering if anyone else has installed one of these pumps on a 91 pickup before.

If needed I can get pics of what I did.

BTW I'm doing a 91 corsica tank because it is plastic vs my stock 95 steel one that has a hole rusted in it... I figured the plastic would last longer.

    Got Lope?
