That is what I thought they were 10mx1.5. I haven't verified though.

If you have a tap/die set, use the stud to cmpare.

Bring you rocker arm to the store with you an make sure the threads on the tap mesh with the threads on the rocker bolt. Simple no guess work

Stock threads were either M10X1.5 or M8X1.25. I think the changeover year was 02 or 04 I can't remember

I'm pretty sure only the top of the stud changed size and the hole in the head was always 10mm. The iron heads used full length 10mm and the aluminum was 10/8mm. I know this because the 8mm studs can be retrofitted with the iron head studs, and Crane makes an adapting stud so you can use any SBC 3/8" rocker (comvertin from 10mm to 3/8"s).

The 3x00s went to the 8mm stud INTO the head in 04.

Thenx for clearing that up for me , i actually went back and deleted the word "early" in front of the word aluminum. When you wrote that my heart went into my thraot for a second until I remembered that my 3400 heads are from 00 (gathering the parts for my hybrid and those studs are silly money from Crane, $100/12) I thought I just ate a $100 mistake.

                      I agree with BSzopi. I seem to remember 8mm X 1.25 threads.

So, it's just waiting to go into the car pretty much. Bolted on my fuel rail w/ #24 3.4dohc injectors tonight cause i had nothing better to do..... The chip is getting burned today, to start it off, and the mount bracket for the front motor mount is done except to weld on the nut for the 1 A/C compressor bolt.... pretty much have to wait until i can get the cherry picker on thursday to do a whole lot more. Will start labeling and disconnecting stuff tomorrow, on the car, to get it ready. But that's a whole nother thread lol.....
