  • Secondary AIR System on 3400...

Is it really neccessary and/or can it be removed easily? I am installing a 3400 from a 2000 Lumina into a Fiero and I am curious as to what I can do with this system. The engine did not come with the associated electric pump so rather than junkyard it I am checking out the option to remove it.

    Any suggestions?

IIRC that system injects air into two of the exhaust ports on each head. If so, just pull the fittings out and plug the holes with 1/2-20 set screws. I believe that I used 1" long ones on the engine I had here. Quick, easy and cheap. Too bad everything else in life isn't this easy.

      Awesome... thanks for the reply.

Do you know of anyway to look up ECMs by the service numbers or other info on the stickers? I have an engine, transmission, ecm and harness that I bought but I don't know what car it came out of...
