  • 3400 + AC bracket?

So I need to get the A/C bypass pulley for my 3400. The belt squeel is annoying. So just to take a peek and make sure, I look and I dont have the bracket on the engine for the A/C compressor at all.

Wondering if anyone would by some strange chance have a picture of the a/c compressor bracket (engine is from a 99 GA). I have a bracket in the trunk that I believe is for the a/c, but I dont know if it's for the 2.2 that was in there, or if it's for the 3400.

You don't need the A/C compressor bracket anyway.

You can use the idler boss below the water pump pulley, though you will have to make sure you have a small tensioner pulley, if yours is mounted to the timing cover.

Edited: Missed a very imprtant word. heh

I have the tensioner and it's set up that way (as I found it on either here or Domesticcrew back in the day) But the belt keeps slipping really bad. I guess by this point it's probabl done it enough to wear the belt out (was new when the swap was done).

I guess i'll just have to dig into it more.

If the belt is slipping there's not enough tension on the belt, meaning either the belt is too long, or the tensioner is worn.
