Exhaust Manifolds 3500 vs S and S

If I chose to get 3500 used manifolds what will I will I be giving up when compared to the S and S headers?

Also does the 3500 headers fit inside the 2001 GaGT engine bays with no issues?


If this question has been answered please direct me to it. I searched but couldn't a exact answer

Ok there are 2 styles of the 3500 exhaust manifolds.
The first style is setup with a cross over that was used on 04+ 3400 engines and some 3500 engines, and will not provide any noticeable gains.

The second style which I believe you are referring to are the header style 3500 exhaust manifolds as seen in the pic below.


I am not sure if the grand am has enough clearance for them or not, however you would have to custom route your exhaust and the gains will be no where near that of S&S headers. No one has done this yet that I know of, so it might be something to look into.

I have a set that we're going to try and fit in a 2nd gen Jbody.. i won't know for a few weeks...

i will let ya know if they will fit a second gen jbod today when i go to finish up the 3500 swap
