Hello everyone, I'm a moderator from G6performance.com and this site has so much info for us LX9 owners over there who have been left in the dark performance wise. I was just a little curious as to what the main differences are in the 3.4 and the 3.5 LX9. I ask because it seems like a lot of the parts should be interchangable. Any comments are greatly appreciated, thanks a lot!

Well you guys have the better top ends, and well good lower ends too... Only things that are "interchangable" and usefull to you would be cams and valve train items.

Your valves are lighter so I would stick to those, but you could use the same cams that 3100 and 3400 guys are buying from this site. Same springs also.

I'm currently building a 3400 lower with a tweaked 3500 top end on it.

Its gonna have a stage 1 milzy motorsports cam, 3500 heads, 3 angle, gasket matched heads and 3500 lower intake, and then a 3400 upper matched to lower to finish it off and keep it looking stock.

Love the avitar... I gotta get me one of those 35+ HP resistors

lol thanks, what are you expecting for gains with all that work? I'm going to be ordering a cam with the 1394 grind I think it was and the ported upper and lower manifolds-hopefully pretty soon. There is also a shop that TuneTyme works through out here in AZ so after I get that work done I'll be taking it for the tune-can't wait!!

      Thanks for the info!

I'm hoping for close to 200whp... sounds low I know but right now I managed 144 with the stock ECM OBD1.5, now I'm OBDII and I can already feel a difference, so I'm hoping with the cam and the top end that will put me up to close to the 200 level... I want to get as close as I can to what I hit on the bottle with my current setup that way I know I'll be in the low 14's hight 13's for a et N/A and then maybe low 13's or 12's on the bottle if I'm lucky.

These are all hopes and dreams, so we'll see when its all done.

You have a built trans for only those mods?

well if its a 4t60e you need to build that for a stock motor... But I think its a 45e and in that "built" may not mean much. I'm not sure what you can do to those little 45e's

factory 4t60e's suck... You can easily kill one with just a stock engine.

Well yea if you abuse it, just like any other tranny

But I will admit it can be fairly weak.

well the "little" 4t45 that i have can handle all of my abuse, but i am building it stronger so 1. i dont have to worry about it later when i go higher horse, and 2 for the extra load i am putting through it with the LSD and high stall converter. if you look at my trans spreadsheet thread i have my program on there for it. alot can be done to the 4t45 to make it handle good power. im going with 3.91 gears and a high stall converter with the LSD. the stock ratio is 3.29 so that will be a big plus in just gearing alone

plus the trans has over 174 k mi on it right now, 30k mi from its first rebuild which i did myself. i am rebuilding it again because the vendor sold me the wrong clutches, so im going back with upgraded parts and higher perf parts to make sure itll hold anything i want. plus i am using my car to prove my trans for others when they want me to build theirs up, thats the whole reason for the sheet
