    i guess we'll see...

i have dexcool in my '04 GAGT with over 50K on the 3400.. no seapage yet. It has the "improved" GM gaskets with the metal tabs in them.

the 3500 ones looked pretty nice when i put them in, If Felpro ends up making a metal version i'll gladly switch over.

The improved with metal tabs to me just seems like it's to cut down on user installation errors. They still crack/warp around the intake and coolant ports.

My motor isn't idling so smooth anymore (random missfire/vibration/shake or something). I did the intake gaskets about a year ago, probably the intake ports are warped a bit and not sealing much.

Superdave: I'd be more concerned with the dexcool clogging up your heater core first than LIM leaking... Check for chunks floating around. Hell I'd just flush it out right away. Dexcool blows.

          Hi

The chunks or reddish brown mud as some have called it, is actually iron oxide.

OAT coolant cannot tolerate air in the system, and when it gets in due to either running the system low, a faulty sealing radiator cap, or failing to sufficiently purge after a flush, the results are the same. ..rust!

OAT needs to be in constant contact to provide anti corrosive protection, and with air, this cant happen.

Traditional green or G-O5 hybrid OAT provides protection against such events through the use of silicates.

BTW, most "Green" coolant these days is a OAT with green dye. The same as dex without the color.
