Yes my 3500 from the G6 has the same badge and I posted a question months ago wondering about the same possibility. The best possible answer to that question would be from ROUSH directly so maybe an email to them might offer an answer. The patch and their history is very suggestive, and since it's on the engine instead of the car it's reasonable to be suspicious it may have a little something extra as almost every badge suggests.

It's not likely they did anything to the engine, my comment was more wishful thinking than anything however you have to question why they would put the badge on the timing cover where almost no one can see it. That means the engine had to be designated for a ROUSH modified vehicle in advance so who knows, maybe that's why some G6 engines have steel cranks and some don't, mine did and as I mentioned earlier the salvager looked at the patch and considered charging me more for the engine.

Many may not be aware of this but their are at least two different types of 3500 cylinder heads and some are aware that there are two different upper plenums although it boils down to one being tapped for a vacuum hose it is possible it can have suttle differences that improve performance. I know the heads are different and that it's not just a part number issue.

What about the heads are different on the 3500 that isn't VVT? Every head I have had so far has been identical.

In addition to building performance cars, Roush also manufacturers/supplies parts to all of the Big Three automakers. My bet is they are just the supplier of this particular part for the 3500's. Nothing high-performance about it.
