Installing a breather help

I bought a breather today thinking i'll put it on and ill be set...but that did not happen I put it on and had the hugest vacuum leak and i idled real high some times then low...My question is what do i do with the vacuum line that sucks the gasses out...electical tape it off until i can remove the whole thing. Advance Auto was 100% unknowing of the problem. Also i didnt get an check engine light. it was prolly because the car was able to compensate wil more feul to the more air so there was no lean mixture but I still need to know what I should do...Thanks

i assume this is on the PCV syst?

if so then y ru wanting to put breathers on in place of the valves and tube? if you wanna not get all the sticky and burnt oil in ur intake just use a catch can, do a search on here and ull find lots of info, i think that sappy made a good one out of stuff he found at wally world

also this isnt a street racing forum, so it doesnt do much good to put a list of cars you have beaten on the road, as everyone here knows streetracing is unsafe. if you did it at the track, then post your times and slips. most people on this forum take racing and engines and everything else related very seriously, and they might get a little judgemental if you put up a list of kills that you had on a sat night

Yea just plug the ports on the intake and throttle body. You should not remove the PCV system it keeps all blow by out of the crank case and helps improve ring sealing. The beather tube that is on the other valve covers can be changed with a breather filter.

Thanks for the information. I'm gonna just leave the PCV system alone since that is probably not that important of a modification.

Edit:...ok I could not bear to see oil in my intake so I disconnected that hose that goes into my intake....now I just need to plug the intake, and disconnect the other end of that hose from the valve cover THEN put the breather on.
