  • NEED ADVICE: Head Gasket, 95 3100

    Hi to everyone!
I wish my first post wasn't that negative, but what the hell ... :P

Looks like I blew a head gasket on the 95 cutlass supreme I just got... damn heavy foot ...

I'd like to know what you guys would suggest for a head gasket... between 3 really, I read about the redesign GM one, the felpro that as metal, and apparently the 04 graphite gasket, but I'm not sure about that one

I plan on keeping the car for a while, but wont do any headswap soon apparently!

    Thanks in advance!

oh I forgot... I called GM for the head gasket the other day, the guy told me there was 2 different set, any ideas which one I need, and the difference would be nice to know

I would also like to know the best head gasket to use... Except I'm building a 3400/3500 hybrid... So I'm not sure if I should get 05 3400 ones from GM for my 3400 block or just get felpro's for the 05 and call it good...

Nevermind none of my 04 3500 gaskets are made by felpro yet... so i'm sure no 05 3400 ones will be listed, but I'll check.

I guess I'm hitting up GM for the gaskets.

you must be talking about the lower intake gasket (between the head and intake manifold) The new GM gasket is supposedly "better", and Felpro did mimic GM's redesign (which BTW IS more robust, but I've even heard of them going bad) The metal felpro one I used on my sister's GP with the 3100. THat gasket is strong, and should be the best out of all of them. Time will tell of course! Whatever you do just don't buy the original design (usually the cheapest as they can barely give those things away)
