  • 3100 rocker questions (pre 96)

I have some questions about the diferences in the 3100 engines! Main question being the heads on the 3100 with the metal pushrod guides. Are these 95- heads? I'm pretty much sure they are but just want to make sure!

Next question do the rocker studs need to be adjusted seperatly, as in differant lash tolerances?

Heres my problem I put an engine in a 97 pontiac grand am SE (3100). I did a compression test last night, and I didn;t get any compression readings. I'm thinking that the valves aren;t seating and letting compression mixture pass. So any help anyone can lend me would be a great help!

    Thanks

Yes, only the 93-95 3100 heads had the guide plates. As far as the rockers, just torque to spec and you are done. There is no valve lash required.
