  • Transmission load problems

    96 Grand prix, SE, 3100 SFI, 4T60-e

Well I think its transmission problems... the Valvebody solenoids on my tranny are making a humming noise... ill unplug the main harness going to the tranny and the noise goes away... plug it back in and it come back... is it supposed to make noise?

also when the car is on extreme load it drops rpms down alot and struggles to drive till the load is gone or you tap on the gas and step on it hard... only does this every once inawhile...

I think its tranny related... b/c all the vaccuum lines are good and every sensor on the engine is new... what could this be?

sounds to me like the car is pushing too much line pressure. Just a guess though, you should get this one onto a dealer dyno(Bear) before this one costs you some big bucks!

when it does this... feels the same as shifting up a gear and trying to drive in to high of a gear...

im throwing around the idea... of just converting to a manual... would help with alot of diagnostics... less parts to go through...

Manual is a big job man. Big one most people don't realize is the tuning that goes with getting a manual in there.

so far from what i have researched... its not to hard... just have to make sure i connect the right wires to the write parts... which i already went through a bunch of wiring schematics... and drew me up a new one to go by... so i know which wires splice into what...
