  • Tranny and differential prospects?

Ok im back, i went through a nightmare with my headgaskets after messing everything up, now with that workin great i need help with my tranny. I have a 97 monte carlo ls, 3100 eng.The diferential blew up, looks like it dropped the pin and spit out a couple of gears tearing apart the housing, I think i can get away with just replacing the dif and doing some major cleaning up inside, but what could i pull another diferential out of? Another question, if i cant find the proper dif, what years can i go back with trannys, ive read that 95 and down wont fit but a friend of mine said it will actually depend on the year and what color the wire connection is that runs to the transmission, is it possible that i could use a tranny from a 95 Lumina? or other 95 cars like grand prix, grand am, etc... or anything that had a 3100 engine in it? Kinda long sry. all answeres greatly appreciated. Thanks in advace. Cheers

Ok someone here has to know, lol. A friend told me that if the 95 has the same color wire connection and the same # of wires it should work. Is he right or wrong? Please someone has to know.

All I know is that in 1994, there were several different versions of the 4T60E. Here are a few pics...
