  • 5-speed swap wiring question

i have a '91 Cutlass Supreme that i swapped a Getrag 5-speed into and turbocharged using TGP parts, including a TGP wiring harness.

today while swapping out the turbo, i noticed that i have two wires that aren't going anywhere. i think they used to go to the transmission selector switch. one is orange/black and the other is black/white. i did all of the other wiring exactly like OldSkool's writeup but these two wires were left over and apparantly i forgot to do anything with them when i did the swap. what should i do with them?

i'm hoping this might be related to the BAD bucking problem my car has.

any help would be great, thanks

old post i know, but i did find out that if the orange/black wire contacts ground the P/N rev limiter is enabled. i just used some heat shrink tubing on both that wire and the black/white wire and zip tied both wires underneath the loom so they can't come into contact with ground. i still have no idea what the black/white wire is for or what would happen if it were to contact ground. i have a feeling it might have something to do with my reverse lights staying on if i leave the car in Reverse after i shut off the ignition. hrrmm...that's the only other issue i have right now.

the bucking issue was unrelated and resolved when i got the car tuned last November at KAZ MotorSports.

well, hope this helps somoene out there doing a 5-speed swap using an auto harness.
