    Oh SH..........

I dunno; Help me out eh? Will the 168 tooth flexplate commonly found on SBC's bolt to the 60 degree?

    b) Drill new holes in the flexplate?

    c) Aren't all converters compatable with all the gm tranm's?

I'm pretty sure the summit trans comes w/ a kickdown provision; I used to own one. Previous conversion (which we won't get into). But even if i have to downshift manually i wouldn't care. No big deal. Goal is to have economical transportation.

If you want economical transport have you thought of a 5 Speed? A T5 5 Speed will bolt into almost anything. You can get one from a Camaro for a far back shifterlocation or and S-10 will put it 6" forward. You can get one with a Straight up bellhousing or a tilted one. No cables, no vacuum, no tranny lines to worry about. Far more dependable and more economical in both initial cost and economy

the flexplate would have been the next thing i would mention. a small block flex plate wont bolt to a 2.8l. the next thing is a 350 converter is a 12", the small v6 uses a 245mm converter (9.5"), and both use different bolt patterns. if there is a company that makes an adaptor, there has to be someone who makes a converter or flexplate to use in this aplication.

i am just trying to throw out some ideas here to help with what you are doing. my opinion of it is once the project is all said and done, you will find you spent very close to what a 700r4 would have cost. keep in mine, what summin and jegs has is a performance tranny built to take a healthy v8. you dont need that, a 2.8l will never make the power of a healthy v8. i would talk to some of your local tranny shops, tell them what your building and see what they would recomend and get prices.

if your looking for a cheap 3 speed auto, look into a th200. it will bolt right up to a 2.8l without any issues, and shoudltn be more money to have built than a th350.

I wouldn't object to a manual at all. But then what about clutch pedals, linkages etc?

SIMPLE!!! juss need a clutch peadle, cable, then make a bracket and ur set!!! no stupid vacume lines aor dorky kick down's, you have a transmition meant for performing and not originaly a luxury option like auto's

                PT.2:

                Sooooooooo..........

Does anyone make/sell a flexplate (don't want to use a stick just yet) that will bolt to the 60 degreeer AND be compatable with a TH-350 converter?

                a) Won't any GM converter fit on the input shaft of a TH-350? Or, if not, is there a way to change input shafts from a, say, 700r or 2004r to a TH-350.

                b) Can i drill new holes on a prexising 168 tooth SBC flexplate?
Please describe the process in great detail.

                Any other ideas?
