  • 6 speed conversion

Is anybody working on putting the new GM/Ford FWD 6 speed onto our engines? That would be awesome.

The manual from the G6? Or are you talking about the gm/ford 6speed automatic (is that even out yet)?

I think a few people have talked about the G6 manual 6spd. I think one or two people are giogn to try. I believe V8 archie has made a few fieros with that trans too now.

The 6spd auto, I don't know. It's probably really heavy.

And I forgot to mention, the 4T45-E weighs 85.1kg, so the new 6-spd auto is 19kg heavier.

ford doesnt use the gm 6 speed. being you said gm/ford 6 speed, we asumed the new 6t75, its built and used jointly between ford and gm.

They offer a 6 speed that works on the 3800sc so should be no problem for others.. They use to list alot of info about it on their site but could not find much on it now. @ the bottom it gives a break down of ratios on the 6sp.

if i remember right, that is actualy a honda transaxle, im gonna guess from an rsx wit hthe k20 motor (200hp 2.0l). now i know its longer and mounts could be an issue in anything but a fiero.

as for the gm 6 speed from the 3900, i beleive they changed the bolt pattern, so an adaptor would be needed. im sure it could be made to work.

Hmm so that means a 3900 won't bolt up to older transmissions either? Jospeh Upson is going to use a 3900 in his fiero now....

                      They're actually NSX transmissions.
