Are there any aftermarket flexplates/clutches available?

And which GM torque converter would put me around 3k that would fit in my 4t60e?

if you are truely looking for a good converter, id look around on the net for a performance 4t60e/65e converter. they do exist, and will be a lotbetter for performance than an off the shelf factory converter. i know a couple people that have put the factory 125 3k stall conveter in (rebuilt of coarse) and had them stall anywere from 2000-3500.

as for aftermarket flexplate, i couldnt tell ya, but stock realy shouldnt be much of an issue, dont see many people breaking them. alto does make redeagle clutches for the 4t60e so you should be good with those.

So any 4t65e converter will work in a 4t60e.
U got a link for the alto redeagle clutches? what is a redeagle?

Now anybody have some info about the zzp parts above if they will work or not?

if you try a converter from a '00 GP 3100 that should give you a rather high stall to the tune of 3000 rpm. You can use it with no problems.

The shift kit is a good idea. you can get that from rockauto as well. The transpan is a nice idea too but the price isn't. Adding an auxillary cooler for a $40 will do more that that pan will. That drive chain set? Well you already have the single chain setup. If you want to switch the 3.73 gears you need sprokets from a 3.4 tdc. You should have the proper final drive of 3.33. Yeah that stuff will all work sans the shift kit becuase their's is ment for a 65e. you need one for a 60e.

          Thanks GPSE3400. I'll look up a converter from a 00 gp 3100.
You have any recommendations for an auxillary cooler?

bulkpart.com carries the transgo kit for 4t60-e for $45

i will be offing my 4t60-e(needs new clutches) but not till winter, it would be excellent for someone to throw a clutch and seal kit into because it's already got the trans-go kit, a 3,000 stall converter, and 3.73 FDR.

Yeah I just saw that, the rock doesn't carry the shift kit anymore. Well what Pat said. For aux coolers, if you want a factory look, you can get the setup from a tdc car, or you can buy a kit from the auto parts store. The best type is the stacked style. You can run thr\e regular tube/fin stlye as long as it has the turbulators in its tubes which basically is a divider that is twisted. Pepboys, AZ, Advance should have one......Actually I got a kit that I'n not going to use. I'll sell it for $50 shipped. It's a heavyduty stack style. Comes with all the quick mounting hardware and rubber transmission hose.

I'd say forget a trans cooler. Not worth the hassle and risk of blowing a hose off. Heat isn't the killer usually of these trans.

I beg to differ, that what does kill these transmissions... I got a cooler as soon as I rebuilt my first Trans; it went later due to diff failure, because that lube tube wasn’t properly secured so lack of fluid lunched my diff. But I recommend getting a cooler especially if you put a higher stall converter in. All they do is produce heat.

And you can get those gear change parts MUCH chaper than that. I did a 1:1 chain ratio swap for under 250. 70 each gear and 80 for the chain I think, but I'm using the earlier chain, non flexable link... so I needed a older 3t40 or pre 95 drive sprocket, the driven ones fit both styles of chains in the 4t06e.

There is a post with pics of my rebuild on here.

Yeah a aux trans cooler is a fantastic upgrade. Heat kills the good parts while bad parts just kill themselves. A W-car has got some weight, put some, more power throught the wheels and you'll heat it up. Hoses do not blow out if you tighten them properly....

Firmer shifts can be had by getting the adjustable vacuum modulator and by shimming the accumulators. all adjusted properly, you'll have a longer lasting transmission with nice crisp and firm shifts. Not mushy GM spec shifts. Add the aux cooler and now you have consistancy.
