I know this is an awkward question. But, I've already busted 2 tranny pans on my '96 Buick Century. Once on a speedbump at 10mph with 5 people in the car. A second time scraping going into my driveway at idle speed!
I'm tired of going to the junkyard and getting a replacement and having lost $50 worth of fluid on my driveway.
My question is this::: Does anyone know of a company that makes a thicker tranny pan or one that is less prone to damage?? I know this ain't no Jeep but it really sucks having to drive AROUND speedbumps instead of OVER them.
And yes, part of it is that my suspension sucks and needs some major work as well.
I figure, if no one makes a pan for it, it looks like a pretty simple design, I'll grab some 1/4" plate and weld up my own.
