91 3.4 DOHC Transmission can the 90 TGP ECM control it?

Can the Turbo Grand Prix 727 ECM operate the transmission from the 91 3.4 DOHC Lumina? I have a lead on one and a need for it at $100 to install in my second Fiero which it appears I will have to finish ahead of schedule due to space limitations in storage. Not sure the 4-spd in it already will work properly since I had to stop the project before completion some time ago.

From what I remember, it can because it has the extra memory. BUT, the extra memory was for some of the turbo equipment. So if you have a TGP setup, I don't think you can run both it and the 4T60E at the same time.

i thought the 91 lumina had a 440t4 (also known as the 4t60). it was not electronicly controlled, and was the same type of tranny used in the tgp. i didnt think it was till 92 that gm started with the 4t60e.

The DOHC was one of the reasons the 4T60E was developed. I am 99% certain that there was NEVER a DOHC mated up to a 440T4.

4t60e came in '91 with the 3.4.

A 727 will be a 727. No Trans controll for shifting..only TCC.

I ran into the same problem when i converted my GTP back to auto due to cost, i ended up pigy backing another ecm for a 91 3.4 to run the tranny and a/c, while the engine was controled by the orginal 3.4 ecm with the tgp bin in it, the trany had a shift kit and valve body mods done to it with a large tranny cooler, i have been driveing it since apirl and haven;t had any issues,
