best way to pull tranny

what's the best method for pulling tranny.

1 out the top - engine and tranny
2 out the bottom - engine and tranny
3 out the bottom - tranny only

I've heard of people doing it all three ways. What's the easyest? I'm not doing anything with the engine so I'm thinking out the bottom tranny only.

you need to support the engine with an engine hanger from the top and pull the subframe off in order to pull the trans out the bottom. you may be able to rent an engine hanger from a tool rental place, or could make something with a peice of 4x4 and some chains.

i'd take it right out the top, engine and tranny together. that's the way i do it everytime and it's pretty easy IMO.
