  • 1991 Lumina Euro 3.1/auto trans 4T60E into 1989 Z24 help!!

First time here looking for help, so please don't laugh. Problem is I got 1991 Lumina Euro 3.1 with 4T60E trans and thought I would swap it into my 1989 Z24. Nope Different trans and lots of other parts/brackets. Now on the lookout for a trans for a 1989 Z24, I think 125C or something. Not sure, need to know what transmission came in that car for sure, as I have no motor or trans from the Z24. Was a 2.8 I know that, with auto trans. Please direct me to parts or someone who might want to trade transmissions for a start and other parts to get me on my way. Thanks all.

I have a 94 Z24 and was thinking about doing a 125C/4T60E swap myself. Either that or a 4T45E. I just don't know if there is enough room for the 60E. I'll make it fit, whatever it takes, but i don't know if there is enough room between the firewall and the engine. Not to mention the axle sizing.

Yeah, if the car came with an auto, it was a 125C. I would suggest a shift kit as well. They are a little too soft for me. My kit cost $26, and when I actually get the tranny in, it will be installed for free. Any way you can do some measuring to see if the 60E will even fit? That would be great!
