i've got a flywheel for a 5 speed Z34 that needs turned. anyone have any specs on minimum thicknesses so i can see if it can be turned or should be thrown away?

yeah first place i looked was the 91 dohc supplement manual. i've got books out the arse, couldnt find anything. nothing stamped on the flywheel itself either like brake drums are.

Not sure on specs. Has it been turned before? Any good machine shop should be able to tell. If you've already taken it off was there a shim behind it? Make sure you get a shim from where ever you have it turned. Also make sure they don't do it on a brake lathe.

shims come in .025 and .050 some are stackable but I don't think the ones you need are. more than .050 would prob. be the max on your flywheel.

I'm not sure about specs, just as long as you don't tag the flywheel/crank bolts with the clutch hub, you should be alright. 350 has enough to grind .150". You shouldn't need that. You trying to lose weight? Or need a flywheel? I got one you can have. Stocker. Pay ship or come and get it. Or if you have a carb set up for a 4.3, I'll trade, and bring it up.
If you are driving a Chevy, everything else, is just a blur. 3.4 Carbon Footprint.

nah, i just want to know if it's good or not before i determine whether i should try and give it to someone with a 3.4/5 speed or i should throw it in the steel trailer and scrap it.

used to have a whole carbed 4.3 but gave that away. just have a TBI setup, still running on my truck till i put the tbi 305 into it.

Any automotive machine shop should have those specs, just call them and find out.
