  • 4t60e HD (kinda) rebuild

heres pics of various stages of the install as well as some of Dynotechs customers I uploaded into a personal album. They do ALOT of grand nationals and turbo regals along side thier GTPs

As for what was done, I really should have taken notes but Ill try to list all I remeber:

ProTorque FL086 HSC Torque Converter 3500 stall
Upgraded roll pin 15/16" wide drive chain w/ gears 3:29 fdr 35/35
LSD with 30 tooth sun gear and steel washers
Modified valve body (blueprinted and modified for better more responsive shifts)
    Modified hub assembley
    Shift kit
HD Clutches with rolled lip to prevent cutting into hub (common problem)
    HD bands
    Rolled lip seals
Some gears and parts are HD others are OEM replacements for Volvo transmissions
Of course standard rebuild stuff like upgrade to current electronics, gaskets, seals, o-rings etc.

Thats about all I can think of off the top of my head as far as the trans build went, im sure theres more but its all I can think of right now. Thier attention to detail is awesome and they also do all sorts of little things I never even expected:

Cleaned and repainted engine cradle, replaced old mounts
Cleaned bottom of engine and engine bay area (normally not cleanable when everything
Replaced rear main seal on the block (they noticed it was leaking so the fixed it)
Re ran some of the harness wiring to prevent damage
new trans dipstick, re-routed so that it doesnt rub aginst the headers.

Cost at the end of the day?

about $3500 after taxes includes a 12 month/12,000 mile warranty

So far im really happy, time will tell how it goes, but with a trans built by someone with over 15 years expierence rebuilding perfomance transmissions I think it will last me quite a while.

about 1 more tank of gas and shell be broken in, then I can pratice launching with a 3500 stall converter.

Thats a very resonable price! I paid 2300, got everything you have except the high stall, upgraded diff, limited slip. T and S transmissions in Martinsville, Indiana did the work on mine, and it is great. How much did they charge for the diff swap? I want to do a 3.33 fdr with the phantom-grip lsd so my fdr goes from 3.06 to 3.21. Sounds like a nice build, and it is very satisfiying to see the aftermarket FINALLY coming around to addresseing this tranny. You know, it really is'nt that bad of a trans., hell, it'll hold 280lb-ft of torque! And that is before you beef it up even.
Don\'t hate me because I\'m horny.

Thanks, yeah I dropped from stock 3.33 gearing to 3.29 to get use the LSD. I could have had a higher ratio but I wouldhave had to decrease the number of teeth on the gear which isint as good for longeivity im told. I dont really notice the difference. Im still getting use to the higher stall though, Im told I can adress it a bit through PCM tuning of the PWM and TCC lockup.

Im not sure how much the diff was alone it wasnt line itemed. I would guessif it was done seprately it would cost somewhere around what any other diff on the market would cost.

I know they have some t60 casing cores laying around if you want to see if they will make one for you.
