  • Deceleration problem

Haven't posted in awhile.....here's the deal with my car: 91 lumi euro, 3.1, 4T60 trans. When I am coming to a stop, from any speed, any temp, all times, more noticable though from a small speed decrease (in town, 30 or less to 0), in the last 10-5 mph, my car will lurch, sorta. What happens is that it seems as though it is not downshifting (from 2nd to 1st) in time for the speed at which the car is going. Because when it does this it will bog, slightly, and the RPMs will jump just a bit. When any passengers are present, and don't know anything about cars, they won't notice it. It is somewhat subtle. But I notice it everytime I'm crusing around town, between frequent stops (like from stoplight to stoplight and intersections). If I put it in nuetral before slowing, this problem does not occur. Anyone know what I can do? It is not too pertinent to fix, since I am doing a 3.4/4T60e swap within the next year. But I thought if I could at least help it out, just in case I drive this car longer than expected, as is. any suggestions?

    RE: Deceleration problem

Did you check to see if your motor mounts are chewed up? I notice this when my mounts are gone.

      RE: Deceleration problem

what you are describing sounds like a downshift clunk. this is usualy cuased by some internal damage.

my recomendation would be pull the pan and do a service on it to see how bad the damage is, and juts hurry that motor/tranny swap along.
