  • Teflon rings on imput clutch housing sizing

    Rebuilding a 4T60E book shows using special tools for Teflon oil rings installation and for sizing..

    big problem if they go back in tranny as out of package or should I borrow beg or buy the tools ?


    Rebuild on weekend ... call junk yard Monday come and get er.

    IM a cheap ass and used aluminum sheets out of a soda can and a hose clamp to compress the seals and to install them. Kinda like a piston ring compressor/installer.

    I'd rent the tool or go the the trans shop and see if they do it for you since your not as "crazy" as I am.

      Thanks for the hose clamp idea ,, appears to work

      currently stuck installing driven sprocket support part 609 in book ,, lacks 1/2 " of going on very very very tight fit

        Did you mesure the packs before? Did yo aligh them when putting on the sprag and sunshell?

          I'm sure clutch pacs are seated correct ,, I'm binding @ top of case side to side issue
