  • 1995 Camaro clutch hose for T5 transmission

I have installed a 3.4 liter 60 degree V6 in a 1978 MGB. I am attempting to connect the MGB master cylinder to the T5 slave cylinder. I questioned the Chevrolet dealer about purchasing the hose and was informed I would have to purchase the master cylinder/ slave cylinder and hose as a unit. In my humble opinion that is a lot of bull (or rip off)! Does anyone have a suggestion as to how I may resolve this issue?

It may not be bull... in some GM cars they are a one piece set.
After running out to the garage to take a look at the T5 master/slave that I've got for an '86 Camaro, it does indeed appear that it wasn't intended to be separated... or if it was, it's got a fitting I have never seen before, there's a pin thru each cylinder's housing near where the hose connects. I wonder if there are aftermarket slaves, or slaves meant for another application such as the S10 that might be separate.

you are correct as far as I can tell also. I purchased an aftermarket slave cylinder and it came with a rubber bushing and a pin.
the S10 slave cylinder faces the opposite direction from the camaro. S10 system presents a clearance problem for MGB conversions.
i think there is some kind of ring at the end of the hose which is held in place by the pin, but since I have never seen one a can't tell for sure.

I dont know anything about F body transmissions, but I made my own line from master cylinder to slave cylinder using air brake hose, for my grand prix. It holds up to brake fluid and is very strong, been running it for years like this with no problems. Best of all it is dirst cheap. I just found the correct size that would fit over the fittings of my slave and master cylinders and bought a length of the hose. The hardest part was forcing it over the lobes on the fittings as it has to be very very tight in order to not leak. I used 1/4" inside diameter in my application but the T5 cylinders may very well use a different size fitting. To bleed the system I repeatedly compressed the slave cylinder by hand until no bubbles appeared in the resovoir when doing so, as there are no provisions in my car to bleed it by any other means, a bleed screw would have been very nice. Good luck!
