ok, here is the low down....
car is a 96 monte carlo, 4t60e tranny, 3.33 FDR
i replaced the tranny with a 98 buick century 4t60e, 3.29 FDR
now to the problem....
the tranny doesnt like to shift into 3rd, at all.
it "feels" like it will shift into 3rd, but the PCM is saying thats its 4th. but thats at 30 mph. then there is another shift at about 45mph that "should" be 4th, but the pcm is stating its been in 4th gear since 30mph.
it also doesnt like to shift at WOT into the next gear. i have changed the shift points on the 1-2 so it will shift (lower desired MPH shift) due to the gear difference.
it has 20,000 miles on the new tranny. i have put about 1k on it since the install a few weeks back.
im pretty sure its NOT the tranny, at this point anyway.
i have the DHP powertuner but i dont have the ability to change the FDR in the pcm YET. charles should be adding it very soon for me.
now to the questions....
can the very minor change in the FDR cause the problems that i am having?
i have changed the vac modulator and replaced it with a brand new one so i know thats not it.
could the 2-3 accumulator be messed up or stuck from sitting at the junk yard without fluid (but the accumulators should hold fluid after draining the pan)?
anyone have any thoughts?
