Thanks for the info. Now the other problem is finding an aftermarket shifter that will work. Are there any that are made for FWD cars?

You want to replace the WHOLE thing? or just the handle?

I'm thinking that just the handle is going to be the only thing that I will be able to do. Odds are that there isn't a shifter for FWD cars right now.

Does you shift handle attach with a clip in the stem of the handle? If so, the good luck! Every aftermarket shift handle that I could find in 4 years of looking attached with 3 set screws at the base, which only served to gouge the shift rod. They looked like "Ricer Replacements". (AND they never worked right) The only thing my dealer could come up with that attached using the clip was It took junkyard hunting for 4 years to finally find a stock replacement for my electrical taped handle. (tape was the only thing holding my broken shifter together)
