ok here is a picture of the part in question. i bought a rebuild kit for my tranny and i cant figure what this is and i was hoping it was the TCC.

That is the adjustable vacuum modulator

yeah i kinda thought that thing had something to do with vacuum because of the nipple on top of it. anyways i found what i was looking for but it involved calling around to a bunch of auto parts stores until somebody said they had it but i have to order it offline. later on

Yup, thats a vacuum modulator.

hey bszopi, that solenoid you posted is in the transmission, actually theres 3 of those and 1 other solenoid. the one other solenoid is the one i needed. its round instead of square and has 2 O rings on it and the part that holds the O rings is longer. i went to the dealer and they gave me the wrong solenoid and im hoping that the one i ordered off kragen isnt the wrong one also. later on

Yeah, there are 3 of those. Only certain versions of the 4T60-E will have the other solenoid. It is the PWM solenoid. It is related to the TCC solenoid, though. It allows for smoother shifts between gears. I'll see if I can't find a pic of that one as well...

Ok, so this is a very crappy picture, but it'll do for now...



This is a solenoid replacement kit for the 4T60-E, and you can see the 3 shift solenoids and then the PWM solenoid also. I wish they had a bigger picture!! Oh well... I'm sure there is a good pic in one of my manuals at home, but I'm not sure when I'll be able to go through them and get it up.
