Well I have a problem with my junker car once again ... It appears that the torque converter is takin dumps inside my tranny leaving little metal chunks inside the filter...

Replaced 7qts of oil and new filter (better than the one they sell at autozone) Those ones are shitty filters... hoping it will last awhile longer till i get some money for a rebuilt... The cheapest i found out here that someone will do is 1600 and he's a 70 yr old man, employed by the government when he was younger rebuilding for the FBI and state agencies...who said he really doesnt want to do it cuz its a pain in the ass... another guy i talked with who rebuilds for nascar affiliated people wants 2000.... 1 yr warranty no fine print mileage exemptd....

wow im thinking if i should just junk the car ... but i love it too much its a good ride and the engine is holding up good with not many miles on the little piecer 3.4 =) it was fast until this tranny started acting up... I know its not long before i get my grey oil color again and it to start making noise like it did before i changed the oil .....

Any ideas ..... I can't do it myself due to lack of skills..I have a lift and a shop to do it in but im hearing that you need to re-program the pcm and the wire harness.... that goes to it has to be replaced, because when you pull the connectors from it they break and the old ones wont snap in correctly causing them to come out and screw up yer new planetary spheres u just spent cashloads on...lafff

1600 for a rebuild sounds a little steep. You can get a reman for less than 1000- then all you?ll have to do is swap it out yourself. You do not have to reprogram anything. if you are careful when pulling the elec connector, it wont break. I have had mine off at least 4 times ant its fine. If you get a reman, make absolutely certain you get one that is specifically built for a 91-93 3.4 DOHC. They used an internal wiring harness that is unlike any other car. If you can get the right reman, I?m sure you could swap them yourself with no problems. I have done mine twice now in a friends driveway.

Even if you didnt send your core back to them, you are only looking at 950.

Why wouldnt you? they remanufacture transmissions all the time. just because it is on ebay does not mean it is any different. Ebay is simply another selling tool that some businesses choose to take advantage of. If i chose to sell my products on ebay they wouldnt be any different than those that i sell on my site.

Just be glad you don't have a 5 speed that's taking a crap on you.

<---- Has a 5 speed that's taking a crap on him. GM wants $5000 for a new 284, and offers $3000 for the core charge.
