i dont feel like reading this bs anymore so i am gonna answer after the third post
ok the 4t60e is in fact controlled by 2 solenoids and a tcc it still retians a vacuum modulaotor for line pressure usually the solenoids have a constant hot going to them and a ground is sent from the computer so them you would need to have 2 switches that are groundedor 4 with a relay setup that cancels each other out
anyway if you ask nicely i can give you the info you need about which wires are for which solenoids and which to run a hot wire and which sloenoids are on/off for which gear but thats wasting my time
first manually shifting a trans even an electronic one doesnt hurt anything
heck a 4l60e will shift itself on the redline if you leave it in 1
but to get to my point for +- $200 msd makes a electronic trans controller that runs off of engine rpm is fully programable for any electronic trans so if youwhat it to shift a 3000 every time it will only at 3000 but it will control the trans
you will still need to know what solenoids come one when but ask me when you need it
but your next problem is that you might have a fun time getting that trans into an 86 cavalier
also what tran parts can this shop not get ahold of?
and if you want od id say find a 440t4 its strong enough i thin for your needs and it should bolt in with the stuff for a 125 which is a beast in itself

wow, someones angry. especialy for their first post in this thread. where the hell did you come from? "after the third post" that was days ago, a little late "know-it-all", welcome to the future.
i think i have all the info i need. the reason for using the latest greatest would be for support, why settle for less? im just checking into my options. besides, my tranny's going to be done this weekend. if you read past the third post...1986 Cavalier convertable,
2.8L V-6 iron heads,
5-spd (isuzu).
16\" 5 spoke wheels
Soon to be:
A bored Gen2 3.1L (1mm over),
11.39:1CR
Crane 260-H cam
Crane Gold Roller Rockers
The original 4-spd (3.65:1) going back in.

I got a electronic training manual for the 4t60e and one for the 4t65e, if you need one of them I really don't need them anymore.
One downside of manually electronically shifting the 60e (say the shifter is in OD like most driving is done) if you forget to upshift the tranny feels like its freewheeling during decel. IE, OD shifter 1st by electronics, accelerate to 20mph and let off and the tach drops to idle and it feels like you are coasting. Hit the gas and the tach will jump up to the RPM for the respective MPH and then it feels like its in gear again. If the shifter is in a higher gear then the electronics are, on a decel you will experience this.
The reason for that is that the engine braking for any and all gears is controlled by the shifter, not the electronics. I once figured out how to use a BCD to 7 segment IC to keep the electronics matched to the shifter.
